China - Summer 2008
This Summer four of our MBA students joined together with a group of undergrads and set off to the Far East. This is the fourth year that USF St Petersburg has travelled to China as part of the International Business studies in the College of Business. Here is what a couple of our students had to say about the experience:

The study abroad program in China is an excellent opportunity to get to know the country and the business practices that are differentiating Asia from the rest of the world. It was a well-defined mixture of studies, formal visits, traveling and tourism as well as fun.
Visiting China with the support of USF St. Petersburg allowed us to gain access to places and people that normally one could not get by its own. It was a wonderful educational and personal experience.

The China Study Abroad Trip was such an amazing lifetime experience. You get to experience another culture and way of living that you don't see here in America. You see the Great Wall on tv and in pictures but it doesn’t compare to hiking the wall yourself. There were several times where I would just pause and say to myself "I can't believe I am seeing this with my own eyes." Among the great visits were clothing factories, silk factories, amusement parks, and various museums. The business visits were also eye opening.
The professors, Dr. Shank and Dr. Ainsough, are great. They are very experienced and knowledgeable travelers that help you augment your intellectual horizons. The tour guides were helpful and friendly. Above all, I genuinely got a sense of how lucky I am to live in the USA and the quality of life I have. I highly recommend this trip!

The China study abroad trip was a fantastic experience. I had never been out of the country before, so I was wide open to anything this trip had to offer. I could not believe that I was there. For the first week, I kept telling myself that this is not Disney World!
I liked how we sent to so many different cities. We toured Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shanghai. They were all culturally rich and distinctly different. We had business visits in each city and we were warmly received by our hosts.
My favorite city was Beijing. We toured the Great Wall out of our stay there. Walking the Great Wall stands out as one of the most incredible things that I did on this trip. It was a 10 kilometer, 4-hour walk. It was physically intense and breathtakingly beautiful. It is hard to conceive that this immense wall was hand built.
