VoIP Calling Area

State, Long-Distance Calling

The Office of Campus Computing offers free, long-distance calling with no per-minute charges and with no need for a calling card. The long-distance service includes all of the lower 48, continental U.S. states. Fax machine lines are also eligible for this service. Local Calling Area

The Campus Computing VoIP phone network has, by default, a local calling area that expands from Pasco County south to Sarasota county. This calling area encompasses the entire Tampa Market Area (see image below) and all USF campus locations — Tampa, area code 813; St. Petersburg, area code 727; Lakeland, area code 863; and Sarasota/Bradenton, area code 941.

• Jajah: Jajah's primary service, Jajah Web, takes an approach called web-activated telephony, using VoIP to connect traditional phones (landline or mobile). Calls are made without download or user-installed software, and in most cases at rates lower than those of traditional phone companies or even free of charge (source: Wikipedia).
